Many students across Bangladesh are eagerly waiting. They want to know if they got into National University (NU). The NU Admission Result 2025 is a very important step for higher education dreams. Right now, students who applied for the Honours 1st year (2024-2025 session) are preparing for their admission test. This test was moved to a new date. It will now happen on Saturday, May 24, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM.
After the test, the university will check the papers. They will also look at students’ SSC and HSC results. Then, the NU Admission Result 2025 will be prepared. This result decides who gets a place in NU colleges. Getting into National University is a big goal for thousands of students every year. It offers many subjects in colleges all over Bangladesh.
The admission process happens in steps. First, NU publishes a ‘1st Merit List’. Students on this list got their first choice or a high preference. If seats are still empty, a ‘2nd Merit List’ is published. There are also results for students applying under special quotas (like freedom fighters). Sometimes, ‘migration’ happens. This means a student might get moved to a subject they preferred more, if a seat opens up.
What if you are not on the first or second list? Don’t worry yet. NU usually offers ‘Release Slips’. Students who didn’t get selected, or didn’t get admitted even after selection, can apply again using release slips. They can choose up to five colleges where seats are still vacant. There are usually two rounds of release slips and their results.
So, while the Honours admission test for 2024-2025 is still ahead, knowing how to check the result is important. For other NU courses, results might be announced at different times after their application deadlines. Always check the official NU website for exact dates.
How to Check the NU Admission Result?
When the NU Admission Result is published, there are two main ways to check it. You can check online using the official website or check using an SMS from your mobile phone. Usually, the result is available via SMS first, often around 4 PM on the result day, and then online around 9 PM. But it’s good to know both ways.
1. Checking Online:
- Go to the National University admission website. The address is: www.nu.ac.bd/admissions.
- On the website, find the section for your course (like Honours, Degree Pass, Masters, Professional). Click on the correct link for your application.
- Look for a link that says “Applicant Login” or something similar. Click on it.
- You will need your Admission Roll number and PIN. You got these when you first applied.
- Enter your Roll number and PIN carefully in the boxes.
- Click the “Login” button.
- Your result status (whether you are selected, which college and subject) will be shown on your personal dashboard.
2. Checking via SMS:
- Open the messaging app on your mobile phone (any operator like Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink, Teletalk works).
- Create a new message.
- You need to type a specific code, your course code, and your admission roll number. The format is: NU <space> CourseCode <space> Admission Roll
- The Course Code is different for different programs. For example:
- For Honours: ATHN
- For Degree Pass: ATDG
- For Masters Preliminary: ATMP
- For Masters Final:
ATMF
- So, if your Honours roll number is 123456, you would type: NU ATHN 123456
- Send this message to the number 16222.
- Wait for a reply message. You should receive an SMS back telling you your result.
After the Result
If you are selected in any merit list or release slip, congratulations! You will need to fill out a ‘Final Admission Form’ online through the same admission website login. Then, you have to submit the printed form, required documents (like mark sheets, certificates), and admission fees to the college you were allocated to, within the given deadline. Keep checking the NU admission website for all important notices and deadlines regarding the NU Admission Result and the next steps.
