Thousands of students across Bangladesh are waiting eagerly. They applied for the National University (NU) Honours program for the 2024-2025 academic year. The next big step is the NU Honours Admission Result 2025. This result will decide who gets a place in their desired college and subject.
The National University is the largest public university in Bangladesh. Many government and private colleges are connected to it. Getting admission here is a dream for many students after completing their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC).
This year, the admission process included an admission test. This test is a key part of getting selected. The primary online application started back in January 2025. The deadline was extended a few times to help all students apply.
Important Update
Originally, the NU Honours admission test for the 2024-2025 session was planned for May 3, 2025. However, the National University has announced a new date. The admission test will now be held on May 24, 2025. This change gives students some extra time to prepare.
The admission test is very important this year. The final merit list, which leads to the Honours Admission Result, will be based on a total score. This score includes marks from the admission test and the student’s GPA from SSC and HSC exams. According to guidelines, 100 marks are from the admission test, 40% of the SSC GPA, and 60% of the HSC GPA contribute to the final merit score used for selection.
After the admission test on May 24th, the university will prepare the results. The publication date for the first merit list of the Honours Admission Result has not been announced yet. Students should keep checking the official NU admission website for updates. Usually, the result comes out a few weeks after the test.
Getting a good result is crucial. It allows students to study their preferred subject at a college affiliated with the National University. This sets the path for their future careers.

What Comes After the Result?
Students who are selected in the first merit list of the Honours Admission Result will need to complete the admission process. This involves:

- Printing the form.
- Submitting the form along with required documents (like academic transcripts, certificates, photos) and admission fees to the allocated college within the specified deadline.
If a student is not selected in the first merit list, they should wait for the second merit list. NU usually publishes multiple merit lists. There might also be options like migration (changing subject or college based on merit and preference) and release slips (applying to colleges with vacant seats if not selected in initial lists).
